The BFG (Big Friendly Giant) Adapted by David Wood Jan. 25 - Feb. 10, 2008 McColl Family Theatre
Seating Map) Unable to sleep one night, Sophie, an English orphan living under the sharp eye of Mrs. Clonkers, catches sight of a Giant outside her dormitory window. Realizing that he has been spotted, the Giant whisks her away to his secret lair. But instead of eating her (as most Giants would), he enchants her with his funny tales, silly whizpoppers, and the lovely golden dreams he collects. This Giant is not only Big, he is also Friendly … something Sophie learns most Giants are not. Most of these beastly creatures love nothing more than crunching the bones of “human beans,” and the children of England are their next target. Can Sophie and the BFG devise a plan to stop them? Will the Queen of England help? Full of Roald Dahl’s delicious humor, unexpected twists, and the most loveable Giant ever, this is whizpopping fun for families of all sizes! For ages 6 and up.

“Giant
captivates in big way … Larger than life cast, wordplay satisfy
with silliness and scares … a smashing adventure.”
“Life-sized at last, and worth the wait … Glumptous.” “Children’s Theatre of Charlotte had never let me down … That record is still intact.” – Don Cook, ARTS à la Mode (FULL REVIEW)
“A warm, magical theater experience
that the whole family can enjoy! The stage performance of The BFG is
filled with clever fun and wonder.”
