Stage Manager

The CTC Production department seeks a Stage Manager for the 2008-2009 Season. This is a full-time, seasonal position (August-May). The Stage Manager will work with a team of professionals to mount original MainStage productions, Tarradiddle Players (resident acting troupe) touring productions, productions through the CTC Education Department, and host presenting artists.

Strong organizational abilities and excellent communication skills are required, and experience with large cast shows, including three full-scale musicals. Responsibilities include: pre-production meetings, working as the liaison between director and designers, room-set-up, script preparation, beginning rehearsals on time and monitoring breaks and ending rehearsals on time, maintaining the callboard and preparing the daily rehearsal call, tech rehearsals, production meetings, and working all assigned performances. The Stage Manager will work in collaboration with the Production Stage Manager.

Ideal candidates will be a college graduate with industry experience. Special consideration will be given to candidates with additional technical skills and experience (lighting, sound, etc.) and candidates with some teaching experience.

Costume Shop Positions

The Costumes Shop of Children’s Theatre of Charlotte is accepting applications for the following positions:

Wardrobe Supervisor (Full Time Seasonal)

  • Plot and Run Wardrobe on All MainStage Shows -- Lots of Quick Changes

  • Manage other dressers

  • Manage dressing rooms

  • Facilitate Laundry and repairs for all MainStage productions as well as Tarradiddle touring productions.

  • Wig and Makeup Experience is a Plus

  • Part time stitching

First Hand / Costume Shop Assistant (Full time)

  • Must have pervious Professional Costume Shop Experience or MFA in Costume Technology

  • Serves as Costume Shop Manager’s Assistant. 

  • Assist in the cutting and draping of the shows

  • Knowledge of pattern making is a must

  • Supervises Over hire stitchers and keeps the shop running while manager is away.

Stitchers (Part Time Over Hire)
  • Flexible hours when needed.
  • Must be able to use industrial sewing machines.
  • Must have previous costume construction experience.
