Seating Map)
Like a tyrannical two-year-old, the Emperor of China is never happy
unless he gets his way. He insists on having the best and most of
everything … the best gardens, the best robes, the best music … even the
best marbles. Yet all the extravagant riches he collects leave him
feeling empty, until he meets a plain brown nightingale whose simple,
lyrical song strikes a silent chord deep inside his heart. Will the
Emperor learn anything from the sweetness of the nightingale’s song? Or
will his greed destroy the one thing that can make him truly happy?
Adapted from the elegant fable by Hans Christian Andersen, this
beautiful tale from the orient invites the audience to become part of a
wonderful journey of discovery. Performed by the Tarradiddle Players.
