"Be our guest, be our guest..." as we kick off our 62nd season with our original staging of one of the most spectacular family musicals of all time. In 1991, “Beauty and the Beast” became the first animated film to be nominated for the Academy Award for Best Picture. Prompted by the success of the film, Disney developed a stage version with an eye toward Broadway. The resulting show was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and has thrilled audiences around the world. We are proud to bring the beautiful Belle, Monsieur Lumiere the candlestick, Mrs. Potts the housekeeping teapot and the mysterious Beast to our stage for the first time in this classic story of the redeeming power of love. Disney’s Beauty and the Beast is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI).
