Teen Camp Information
- $275 per week-long session
- Full and partial scholarships are available to qualifying students for all camps
- Appropriate for beginning and returning students
- Full day, one-week sessions
- Bring a snack, a bagged lunch and plenty to drink each day
- Drop off time is 8:30-8:45 am
- Pick up time is 3:30 pm
- There is no camp orientation for 3rd-12th grade camps
- Family and friends are invited to a Showcase at 2:00 pm on the final camp day!

fill out an online registration form and select your desired camp from the regular drop down menus. Although a form of payment is required, you will only be charged if you receive a call
from Children's Theatre and accept
an open space.

2010 Summer
Camps - Teen Camps for rising 8th-12th graders
Full-day camps for rising 8th-12th grade students offer a fun yet challenging experience for both new and returning students in a variety of theatre concentrations. Students rehearse with their classmates throughout the week culminating at 2:00 pm on the final camp day with a performance for family and friends in a professional theatre space. 8th-12th grade camps are offered at a variety of satellite locations, including Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte.
The Acting Space
Join a teaching staff of Professional Actors as they share the secrets of the stage. Students explore acting techniques and character development while rehearsing a script. Discover the excitement of taking the action from the page to the stage!

Enjoy a laugh at one of our most popular camps. Skilled Teaching Artists lead students through exercises and games which encourage teamwork, concentration, and the creation of characters and scenes.

Students will rehearse a one-act play while developing techniques in acting. Students must have transportation to ImaginOn on Friday afternoon for dress rehearsal beginning at 4:00 pm. Family and friends are invited to the performance Friday evening at 7:00 pm in the Wachovia Playhouse at ImaginOn!

Technical Theatre
Students work alongside the professional Technical Staff at Children’s Theatre to explore and apply basic technical theatre skills including lighting, sound, set construction and costuming. As a culminating event, students will serve as the tech crew for this week’s MADD camp, Back to Broadway, in the 570-seat McColl Family Theatre in ImaginOn.
