One thing leads to another, and another, and ANOTHER!
What happens when a hungry little mouse shows up at your doorstep? If you give him a cookie, you’d better be prepared for a whirlwind of hilarious demands! Based on the wildly popular circular tale by Laura Numeroff, this high-energy show follows the chain reaction of events sparked by one simple snack. From needing a glass of milk to requiring a trim in the bathroom mirror, the Mouse’s requests lead to a day of chaotic, slapstick fun that never lets up. Sound familiar? Anyone who's ever had a toddler in the house will recognize every delightful, exhausting minute. Spoiler: One cookie is never, ever enough!

Themes: cause and effect, responsibility, and friendship

Beneath the Baobab Tree

Beneath the Baobab Tree

Written by Keetha B.

Journey through the history and culture of Africa
Young Nia dreams of becoming the next griot (storyteller) in her family, and Anansi — the legendary trickster — is just the guide she needs. Together, they lead us through a grand, winding adventure where every detour is a delightful side story. Full of laughter, heart, and tradition, the journey builds to a moment where Nia — and the audience — become part of the tale. This world premiere original play features a collection of four tales: “Anansi’s Quest: Anansi Wins Stories for the World”, “The Magic Tree”, “Why the Sun and Moon are Far Away”, and “Anansi and the Singing Pot of Beans”. Gather Beneath the Baobab Tree and celebrate the power of storytelling passed down through generations. This production is a part of The Kindness Project.

Themes: wit over strength, curiosity, humility and gratitude, and storytelling

Tour available: Sept 28, 2026 – May 14, 2027

Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart

Written by Kathryn Schultz Miller

Take a flight back in history!
Amelia Earhart is a breathtaking theatrical journey that explores the life and enduring legacy of America’s most celebrated aviatrix. The play begins with the driving curiosity of a reporter determined to solve history’s greatest disappearance, asking the question that has haunted the world for nearly a century: "What happened, Amelia?" This framing device pulls the audience into a fast-paced narrative that moves seamlessly between the sensational headlines of the 1920s and the intimate, private memories of the "Queen of the Air."

Themes: courage, ambition, and curiosity

Expand your field trip experience with a Workshop at your school!
We’ve created a fun-filled, one-hour workshop for this show that invites students to explore storytelling through improvisation. Working alongside our Teaching Artists in groups of 20, students will create a scene with a plot and original characters based on themes from the show, then see how prompts and new circumstances change the story they're telling. This Workshop aligns to at least four NCSCOS.TheatreArts standards and would be a great way to deepen your field trip experience. Plus, the Workshop can be scheduled before or after you come to the show. Pricing starts at $245, depending on the number of students and Teaching Artists we provide. If your interested email or call Madia Medico, our Education Residency Coordinator (704-973-2838), and she’ll follow up with you soon!
Tour available: Sept 28, 2026 – May 14, 2027

Mariposa/Butterfly

Mariposa/Butterfly

By Sandra Fenichel Asher and José Casas

Learn how we can all tear down our fences
In a small Texas town, two neighbors are quite different. One grows flowers, the other grows veggies. One speaks English, the other Spanish. They can't even agree on the weather! But when a tiny caterpillar appears on the fence, everything changes. A grumpy disagreement turns into shared wonder as their little friend transforms into a mariposa/butterfly and continues its northern migration from Mexico. A gentle, heartwarming first adventure for your littlest ones — a reminder that the beautiful world we share is big enough for all of us.

Themes: respect, kindness, and gratitude for the wonders of nature

Tour available: Feb 1 – Mar 12, 2027
Recommended for Pre-K
"When José and I first started working on this play, we were thinking of a simple story for preschoolers about two neighbors and a butterfly. As we continued, the butterfly led us further and deeper into its world, showing us the important themes of respect, kindness, and gratitude for the wonders of nature." - Sandra Fenichel Asher
