CTC, one of the nation’s largest, fully producing professional theatre companies for youth, is accepting applications for a School Show House Manager and a Public Performance House Manager. This is a seasonal, part-time, non-exempt position at a rate of $12.00 an hour, reporting directly to the Audience Service Coordinator. We are looking for individuals to work the following schedules:

Weekday Morning School Performance House Manager Tuesdays - Fridays 8:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Weekend Public Performance House Manager Fridays 6:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m.
Saturdays 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (w/ 1hr lunch break)
Sundays 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Works with the Audience Services, Box Office and Production teams to deliver exceptional customer service to the audiences of Children’s Theatre of Charlotte and an exceptional experience for our volunteers.
  • Arrives prior to performance time and house open, runs-through pre-show check list (assuring general cleanliness of house, materials and procedures are ready for house to open, etc.).
  • Greets and orients volunteer Ushers and assigns them to roles for the day’s performance(s).
  • Coordinates house open and curtain times with Stage Manager and Box Office Manager.
  • Coordinates ticket taking and seating of house with ushers, including any special audience needs such as wheelchair seating.
  • Assists Ushers with helping customers during the show, directing audience members to water, restrooms, etc.
  • Helps ensure compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, fire codes and general safety in audience areas; helps enforce house rules regarding these and other matters.
  • Mediates any customer problems regarding seating, disruptions and emergencies.
  • Verifies the hours worked by front-of-house personnel and helps with ticket scanning for record-keeping purposes.
  • Completes HM reports, checklists and prepares house and Ushers for second show (if a two-show run day).
  • Supports the Executive Director in fulfilling the Mission Statement and Core Values of the Children’s Theatre.
  • Other duties as assigned.
