Children’s Theatre of Charlotte offers a wide variety of award-winning classes and camps for your family! Through our education programs, your child will build confidence, develop speaking, leadership and problem-solving skills, appreciate collaborating as a team member and value the feeling of commitment and accomplishment.

Creative Drama:
Age 2 through 5th Grade

Our Creative Drama classes offer an exciting introduction to performing! Students explore their imaginations, build confidence and develop important social skills while investigating theatre concepts and vocabulary presented for their developmental stage. We introduce new materials and books each session.

School of Theatre Training:
Third through 12th Grade

School of Theatre Training (SOTT) is a comprehensive 20-week program for studying the skills and techniques of acting and musical theatre. Class offerings vary at every age level, guaranteeing there is an entry point for your student in our SOTT progression of classes.

SOTT offers two tracks:

  • Open Enrollment (available to all interested students)
  • Conservatory (by audition only)

Kindergarten through 6th Grade

Full-day theatre experiences based on children’s literature that features storytelling, drama, art and music activities as a ‘stay-cation’ option over holiday breaks and Charlotte-Mecklenburg School teacher workdays. Each Mini-Camp led by our professional teaching artists will highlight a different theme with specific activities geared toward the age level of each group. Mini-camps run from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m..

Age 3 to 18

Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s award-winning summer camps offer experiences for students ages 3 to 18 in a fun, interactive environment. Professional teaching artists lead campers in acting, singing, dancing and art activities.

What is it?

Theatre 360 provides a way to interact with Children’s Theatre of Charlotte productions by extending the theatre experience for families and providing access to all! Best of all, many programs are free.

Education Nights

Education Nights are a great way for our School of Theatre Training and Creative Drama families to come and see a mainstage production. Join your Teaching Artists and the rest of the Education Staff for a night full of backstage tours, pre-show activities, cast meet and greets, and of course a great show! There is no extra cost for these activities beyond the purchase of your tickets. There is one Education Night offered for each mainstage show.

If a class or camp is full, please fill out a waitlist request. If spots become available, our Box Office will contact you regarding availability!

If you require a refund for any class or camp, please fill out a refund request form. Our Box Office will contact you regarding your request.


Financial Aid


Children’s Theatre of Charlotte offers full and partial scholarships to qualifying students for programs including Creative Drama, School of Theatre Training Classes and Summer Camps. Scholarship space is limited and fills on a first-come, first-served basis. Payment Plans

We process payment plans in three installments for a small fee. The first installment is on the date your payment plan is approved. You must pay the balance at least one month prior to the start date of your class or camp.
