In this outrageously silly, totally charming (and partly horrifying) musical,  a West Virginia sheriff discovers a  half boy/half bat creature in a cave. The sheriff brings “Bat Boy” to the home of the town veterinarian, where he’s eventually accepted as a member of the family and taught to act like a human. Bat Boy is happy with his new life, but when he tries to fit in with the narrow-minded community, they turn on him. Bat Boy: The Musical is an oddly touching show about fitting in and doing what’s right, featuring wonderful contemporary music and tongue-in-cheek humor. This show is produced by Children’s Theatre of Charlotte’s Summer Teen Studios participants. Content Advisory : This production contains mature themes, including some violence and sexual references, and is recommended for ages 13 and up.
