Because of the rapidly changing climate and closings in the midst of the COVID-19 concerns, we have determined that we will move all of our OnStage auditions online. We understand that this can be challenging for some families, particularly regarding accompaniment for songs. If your family does not have access to someone who can play their audition cut, there are many resources to help students including a YouTube piano accompaniment of your audition song or karaoke track. If none of these options are available, we will accept the vocal audition acapella. A video taken on a phone or mobile device is sufficient. Please contact me if your family does not have access to this technology and needs guidance in an alternate option.

Because of this change, and in order to allow families the time necessary to prepare and upload these videos, we are extending the deadline to March 23. With that extension, families will be informed of cast placement by  March 28, and cast lists will be sent after the virtual parent meeting on March 30.

Instructions for video upload are located in this email below the signature line. Please note that a picture/headshot and audition form should also be sent with the link to your video audition. I have attached the audition form, as well as monologues for Foundations students to use. Make sure you fill out the info on height/weight and sizes as that will be crucial for our costume designers.

Please let me know if you have additional questions and I will do my best to get you a response quickly. Again, thank you for your patience as we navigate the needs of our community and safety for our students and families.

OnStage Video Submission Guidelines:

Video Submissions due by 5 PM, Monday, March 23, 2020.

What to Prepare:
Please look below to see what your student will need to include in the video audition.

A.       ACTING PORTION - All SOTT students should prepare a monologue of their choosing (one they have worked on in class is fine!). The monologue should not exceed 1 minute in length.
B.       MUSICAL PORTION - All students will be required to sing. If you are preparing a song, we ask that it is 16-32 bars to be sung with a track or acapella if that is your only option.  Please make sure the volume of the track is turned down lower than normal in order to hear the student.  If you do not know or have access to an appropriate musical theatre song, then we will ask that you sing “Happy Birthday” a capella for the audition. Because two of our shows are musicals there is always a chance that you might be cast in one of these two shows even if you are “not a singer.” This portion is required.
C.       DANCE PORTION – See below.

Dance Audition instructions:
Please use the DropBox link below and perform the combination to the best of your ability. The music track is also in this same DropBox folder.

Don’t forget to attach a headshot, resume, and audition form in the email with your video audition link.

To get started with this process you will need to create a YouTube account if you don’t already have one:

1. Create a YouTube Account
http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/static.py?hl=en&page=guide.cs&guide=1646810
2. Create a Channel
http://support.google.com/youtube/bin/static.py?hl=en&guide=1646810&topic=1646870&page=guide.cs
3. Upload your video
Once you have a channel created, you can begin uploading videos to it. You can do this either directly, using YouTube’s built in up-loader, or use a program such as iMovie (OS X), or Windows Movie Maker (Windows 7) to convert and upload your AVCHD videos.
After uploading the video, MAKE SURE IT IS SET TO UNLISTED (NOT PRIVATE) . Then you can share it with up to 50 individuals by emailing them a direct link:
4. Share Your Private Video With Us
