CTC, one of the nation’s largest, fully producing professional theatre companies for youth, is accepting applications for an Education Camps and Community Programs Manager to lead, manage and direct the camp and community outreach programs. This is a regular, full-time, exempt position with a benefit package reporting directly to the Director of Education.

Work with us...
Our Camps and Community Program Manager oversees all aspects of the summer camp and community programs, leading a team of 40+ teaching artist and 11 college-aged camp staff, providing excellent programming for over 2,000 children and youth. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment with multi-faceted responsibilities, from ensuring that there are enough t-shirts for campers to developing, growing, and driving residencies and out-of-school programming at school and community sites. If you’re enthusiastic, goal driven, unflappable under pressure, and can strike a balance between generating ideas and executing them successfully, you could be a good fit for our organization.
You would be the ideal candidate for this job if you have:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts or theatre education.
  • 5+ years as a professional teaching artist/classroom teacher. Preferable some experience in program management or education administration.
  • Some experience in hiring, leading, managing, supervising and directing others.
  • Strong, proven project management skills and the ability to keep all the balls in the air. You are able to take a deep dive into the details, while keeping abreast of the big picture.
  • Ability and strong drive to work with diverse personalities and works groups including youth of all ages.
  • Enthusiasm and desire to work collaboratively both within our organization and with partners in our community.
  • Commitment to supporting and promoting a workplace of equity, cultural awareness, and sensitivity.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Proficient-to-expert ability to use the Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities and duties…

  • Organize, facilitate and deliver residencies, school workshops and learning opportunities, and out-of-school-time theatre education. Includes initial budget planning/review for each program.
  • Primary liaison between CTC and outside organizations to book, administer, arrange, deliver and assess In-School Residencies. Out-of-School Programs and Community Involvement Programs (free or discounted programming to community partner organizations). 
  • Seeks new opportunities to partner with outside organizations.
  • Directly hires, trains, leads, assigns, assesses and supervises:
    • Over 40 Camp Staff and Teaching Artists during the summer.
    • CIP Resident Teaching Artist and mini-camp staff during the academic year.
  • Works with Ed Staff to establish a safe and supportive environment for students, teaching artists and staff. Troubleshoot, as needed, to support teaching artists as problems arise. 
  • Help assess community needs and apply for, book and manage ASC Culture Block opportunities, leveraging and aligning current community involvement program residencies with ASC funding opportunities.
  • Provides support as needed for all Education Programs.
