CTC, one of the nation’s largest, fully producing professional theatre companies for youth, is accepting applications for an Development Coordinator to join the Development Team an Assistant Production Manager/Company Manager to join the Production Department.  This is a regular, full-time, exempt position with a benefit package.

  • We are a professional theatre for young audiences with a production budget of $1.5 million and organizational budget of over $4.5 million.
  • We engage professional adult actors and, in one to two shows per season, also include youth actors in the cast.
  • We serve nearly 300,000 young people and families in the Charlotte region and are dedicated to creating vibrant and engaging theatre experiences, both on the stage and in the classroom.
  • Our performance spaces include the McColl Family Theatre (550 seats) and the Wells Fargo Playhouse (270 seats) at the ImaginOn facility, which also houses a full library for children and youth.
  • Each season, we mount 11 full-scale productions for public and school audiences, present 2-3 guest artists, mount a Touring Company production and provide theatre education programming.

Work with Us…
The Assistant Production Manager assists the Production Manager and Production Department in producing shows in a timely and fiscally responsible manner with the highest artistic quality possible. The position works with the Production Manager to manage day-to-day operations, as well as track/maintain materials budgets, labor, calendars and logistics.

The primary responsibility is to assist with the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. These duties include:
  • Arrange, secure and manage guest artists’ travel and residency.
  • Serve as primary point of contact for production issues/needs of Resident Touring Company.
  • Helps to schedule and coordinate production and design meetings and assists in promoting timely and transparent communication in the process.
  • Assist the Production Manager on developing and maintaining the season calendar.
  • Assist with drafting guest artist contracts and managing availability inquiries. Work with the Staff Accountant to manage the contracting process, ensuring that all contracts are executed to payment on time and accurately.
  • In collaboration with Resident Stage Manager, provide oversight of overhire Stage Managers and develop policies and procedures for all CTC Stage Managers.
  • Work with Stage Management staff to organize season auditions.
  • Serve as a representative of the Production staff at various meetings as necessary/appropriate and liaise with third-party and library events.
  • Manage space booking for all meetings and rehearsals.
  • Maintain all production vehicles.
  • Work independently on projects as assigned by Production Manager.
  • Serve as liaison for Presented artists.

  • Thrives on working independently and is always one step ahead.
  • Project management and/or Stage Management experience and readily employs project management techniques and tools.
  • Strong interpersonal, problem solving, facilitation and follow-through skills.
  • Able to lead through a lens of equity, cultural awareness, and sensitivity.
