Community Involvement Program
The purpose of our Community Involvement Program is to nurture the creative and theatrical talents of children and families of diverse backgrounds by providing free or reduced-cost educational theatre classes and access to professional productions on our mainstage. We partner with area schools and support organizations to better connect with students and families in Charlotte-Mecklenburg and the region.Children's Theatre of Charlotte partners with area schools with the firm belief that the arts are an integral part in preparing all students for success in college, career and life. Whether part of an afterschool enrichment program or an in-school residency during the day, our classes develop skills for students, such as self-confidence, public speaking, collaboration and empathy.
Additionally, we partner with organizations helping underserved communities. Our theatre enrichment programs create opportunities for young people to explore and develop different theatre skills, such as voice, movement, scene work, process drama, as well as script writing. Classes are tailored to best suit the needs of each individual site and can range from a single meeting to multiple meetings over several weeks.
If you wish to partner with us, contact Micah Hein, Camps and Community Programs Manager.Children’s Theatre of Charlotte offers reduced-cost tickets to productions and special events for families receiving public assistance and organizations helping underserved communities. These reduced-cost tickets are released for purchase on a first-come, first-served basis for each production throughout the season.
